Myer Rush wearing the Patek Philippe Wristwatch, lot 253.
Property of the late Myer Rush, a colourful, larger-than-life character, reputed at times to his detriment and benefit, to have operated on both sides of the law – cat burglar, loyal family man, gangster, gem dealer, stock promoter, entrepreneur; provenance by descent.
Family anecdote reveals this wristwatch may have been worn during a bombing at the Sutton Place Hotel, Toronto, one of the unsuccessful attempts on his life.
